Repairs
This beautiful Hill violin bow with golden tip and gold mounted frog, had an unproperly made bow head repair. It had a veneer of plywood inserted in a too shallow slot cutted through the bow head. The right way of repairing is always discussible. That's why I would like to describe the process of my repair work:
- Regluing the separated pieces
- Removing the golden tip
- Recutting a deeper slot and removeing the old fitted veneer
- Fitting a new veneer of pernambuco
- Fitting the tip back 6. Retouching and polishing
