About Me
Born, living and working in the historic city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, my passion for the art of violin making led me to the Technical School of Woodworking and Interior Architecture in Plovdiv, where I completed a specialized lutherie class and graduated in 1987.
In the years following my graduation, I worked as a luthier in a musical instrument factory. This formative experience allowed me to experiment extensively with various classic violin and viola models and with fine tonewoods – exceptional Balkan maple and spruce sourced directly from Bulgaria and the Balkan Peninsula.
Upon establishing my independent atelier in Plovdiv, I developed my personal style and approach to instrument making. My work seamlessly blends the centuries-old traditions of classical masters with my own aesthetic sense and attention to detail.
My handcrafted instruments are highly regarded and trusted by professional musicians both in Bulgaria and internationally, as well as by reputable instrument dealers.
Over the past two decades, Bulgarian violins have earned strong international recognition on the global market due to the extraordinary quality of local acoustic tonewood, refined craftsmanship and superior sound.
My ongoing mission is to preserve and advance these lutherie traditions for present and future musicians. In my work, I always advise and encourage young musicians to choose new Bulgarian violins and violas over old mass-produced factory instruments, ensuring they begin their musical journey with an instrument of true acoustic quality and unique character.
